Issues/Questions from the MIP Studies Workflow Open Conference Call on November 20, 2008 Service Pack SP16c was deployed on December 6. For more information on the changes introduced in SP16c please refer to MIP User Care > Guides and Documentation > User Guidance > SP16c Changes to the MIP Issues/Questions from the Conference Call: Issue/Question I updated my cost and schedule information on the Manager task but when I go back in those dates are wiped out. It only appears to happen for certain cases. How can I get dates to stick? Answer This is a situation where the user is trying to update the screen with an earlier date than what is currently showing. Only the most recent calendar date will display on the MIP. If a user enters a date in the As Of field that is earlier than the As Of date already in the system, the MIP will still only display the information from the most recent calendar date. For more information on Cost and Schedule Information, refer to the guidance document: Displaying Cost and Schedule Information on MDD Screens April 2008 posted on MIP User Care on hazards.fema.gov > MIP User Care > Guides and Documentation > User Guidance Issue/Question I continue to have issues with certain errors from the new automated six checks and was wondering if any of those can be made into warnings. Answer The team recognizes these issues and is evaluating changes to the logic. In the meantime, please contact MIP Help if you believe the error should be a warning. They will collect the requests and provide a bypass as appropriate. Issue/Question Is there any benefit from running the DCS check using WISE? Or should we just use the MIP? I continue to get errors running the DCS check through WISE. Answer The answer to this question is still being researched. An answer will be posted when an answer is determined. Issue/Question One of the recent changes to the auto QC was a check on the transportation layer. Because we use ortho we don’t use the transportation layer on our panels. Because it is community provided we previously hadn’t worried about filling in the attributes. Can this error be switched to a warning so we won’t have to spend the extra effort fixing the database? Answer There have not been any recent changes to the automated QC software pertaining to the transportation layer. The use of the transportation layer is specified in Appendix L of FEMA’s Guidelines and Specifications for Flood Hazard Mapping Partners; and is only to be submitted with DFIRM databases that use a vector rather than a raster base map data set. To better determine the root of the issue, the MIP team would need the specific error code provided in the users QC report. Users that encounter this issue should contact MIP Help, with specific information including the error code.
