MIP FAQs: Summary of Map Amendments (SOMA)

  1. Am I a registered SOMA user?
  2. I cannot see the individual communities from the dropdown list for the Study case that I am working on. It only show the countywide in the community dropdown box. Why?
  3. Why the Letter of Map Change (LOMC) or Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) that I am working on is not showing in the SOMA tool?
  4. I am trying to create the Final SOMA list. However all of the cases are un-editable as the first option is ghosted. What do I do?
1.  Am I a registered SOMA user?

SOMA tool is available to authenticate MIP user only. The application is available within the Workbench Tab. You are a registered SOMA user if you can see the SOMA tab. If you do not see the SOMA tab within the Workbench tab, please send ticket to MIPHelp.

2. I cannot see the individual communities from the dropdown list for the Study case that I am working on. It only show the countywide in the community dropdown box. Why?

The Study case is still at the Prepare for Scoping activity. It must be pushed to Obligate Project Funds activity for the individual communities to be populated in the dropdown box.

3. Why the Letter of Map Change (LOMC) or Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) that I am working on is not showing in the SOMA tool?

Only LOMC or LOMR cases that have the ‘Complete’ project status will show up in SOMA tool.

4. I am trying to create the Final SOMA list. However all of the cases are un-editable as the first option is ghosted. What do I do?

The cases are un-editable because the community has already gone (the effective date) has already passed. Only SOMA Administrator can make any modification.
