Below are questions and answers that were discussed on the Studies Workflow Open 
Conference Call on October 21, 2010.

DFIRM Verification Tool (DVT) Checks

Files need to be stored on the MIP for the 
Preliminary DFIRM products (e.g. FIS 
report PDF, Transmittal letters, and 
Preliminary SOMA). These files do not 
have a real home location but may end up 
in the final FEDD files. Can these safely 
be added to the folder where the GIS files 
are uploaded for the DVT checks (e.g 
Mapping.Preliminary_DFIRM_DB). 

 

If these other files are changed after a 
pass/fail has been received for the GIS 
data (e.g. reposting of the FIS PDF if 
there is a last minute correction), will this 
reset the status of the DVT pass/fail even 
if the GIS files are not touched? 

 

Before DVT, if the top level folder’s 
date/time stamp was altered in any way, 
the files would be submitted to FAFS 
whether you wanted them to or not and 
the pass/fail reset. It is unclear if the 
pass/fail status in the MIP would still be 
changed if any non DVT checked files are 
also changed in the same folder. 

 

The following is a list of files and/or extensions 
that – if changed after a pass result has been 
received and before the relevant MIP Workflow 
task has been completed – will trigger the 
validation process by changing the “DFIRM 
Review” status in the MIP to “Validation 
Required.”
