Schedule of Upcoming MIP Downtimes Dates of changes and system to be changed. Schedule of Upcoming Downtimes August 28 – 29 Service Pack 18 24 hours (9:00 PM to 9:00 PM) September 11 (tentative) SAN Fabric Firmware update 10 hours September 12 (tentative) SAN Fabric Firmware update 10 hours October 2 – 3 Service Pack 19 24 hours (11:00 PM to 11:00 PM) October 10 – 12 SAN Upgrade 72 hours MARS (MIP Ad Hoc Reporting System) What is changing and why: As part of the National Service Provider (NSP)/Production and Technical Services (PTS) transition, there is a requirement to protect financial data for each PTS firm. As a result, changes will need to be made to the MIP Ad-Hoc Reporting System (MARS). Access to the Revisions and Amendments universes will remain the same throughout the transition. When: Changes to MARS will occur with the release of Service Pack 19 (SP19), which is scheduled for October 2. Who does this affect and what do you need to do: PTS Studies Users/Black Belts: Once these changes are made, PTS users will be able to access the MARS Studies universe. Also, MARS tool users will be able run reports that reflect costs associated with their organization only. Customer and Data Services (CDS) is in the process of developing guidance to instruct users how to transfer and schedule reports between user accounts, in order for users not to lose previously developed private/custom reports. This guidance will also clarify what will happen to scheduled reports after the service pack is implemented. Who can I contact for questions: Please contact Ngozi Pole with MIP Acceptance with any questions: Ngozi.Pole@riskmapcds.com Process Admin (Part of Service Pack 19) What is changing and why: Because of the requirement to protect PTS financial data, the time between SP18 and SP19 will be a transition period for Process Admin (PA) activities. The Black Belt community and others who currently have access to the PA tool will continue having access until SP19 is deployed. After that, access to PA will be divided between PM and PTS as responsibility for certain activities will be shifted to the Regional Program Management Leads (RPMLs) during Risk MAP. When: Changes to PA will occur with the release of SP19, which is scheduled for October 2. Who does this affect and what do you need to do: Black Belts will no longer have access to the ‘Update Study Project’ Role in PA, therefore limiting access to rebaselining, cost information, etc. Also, access to PA associated with the MOD role will be removed and replaced with a role that provides a more granular-level access to PA. Who can I contact for questions: Please contact Ngozi Pole with MIP Acceptance with any questions: Ngozi.Pole@riskmapcds.com Service Packs SP18 What is changing and why: The primary focus of this release is to support the transition of program management and production activities from the NSP to the PM and PTS contractors. New user accounts will also be added for the PM and PTS organizations. Enhancements will also be made to the Sequencing Tool to provide additional functionality and improve performance. Specifics include the addition of new data fields to accommodate the Risk MAP fiscal years, new project types and changes to the user interface that will make the tool faster to load. When: SP18 is scheduled for release on August 28. Who does this affect and what do you need to do: The most visible changes will be for Sequencing Users. Guidance for the Fiscal Year 10 (FY10) Sequencing tool is currently under development and will be available before the FY10 Sequencing process begins. Who can I contact for questions: Please contact Ngozi Pole with MIP Acceptance with any questions: Ngozi.Pole@riskmapcds.com SP19 What is changing and why: SP19 will cover the remaining changes necessary to support the NSP/PTS transition. Changes include the implementation of a new framework for restricting financial data in the MIP and the removal of the MOD role from all user profiles. When: SP19 is scheduled for October 2. Who does this affect and what do you need to do: After SP19, MOD users will be able to complete items on their workbench and, as the user advances to the next activity in the workflow, additional tasks will be picked up by the appropriate PTS organization. As a result, workflow activities previously assigned to the MOD role will be shifted to either the PM, PTS or CDS organizations. Who can I contact for questions: Please contact Ngozi Pole with MIP Acceptance with any questions: Ngozi.Pole@riskmapcds.com. In addition, due to the fact that SP19 will introduce some significant changes to the MIP, be sure to take advantage of September’s Open User’s Call. This will be an excellent forum to discuss any questions related to SP19. The date for this call will be scheduled shortly. Future Releases MIP-DVT (Mapping Information Platform DFIRM Verification Tool) Integration What is changing and why: CDS is also working on the DFIRM Verification Tool (DVT) enhancement, which will more effectively manage submissions of Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) and streamline the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process. Verification status and results of all DFIRM submissions processed by DVT will be viewable in the MIP through a new DFIRM Database QA Submission Status and Results reporting module. When: Currently scheduled for a Fall/Winter 2009 release. Who does this affect and what do you need to do: This will affect users of QA/QC Pro. Who can I contact for questions: Please contact Udi Kish, MIP Project Manager, with any questions: Udi.Kish@riskmapcds.com PALT (Procurement Acquisition Lead Time) What is changing and why: Changes will be made to the PALT tool to support FY10 projects and beyond. Who can I contact for questions: TBD Infrastructure SAN Fabric Firmware Update Updates to the Storage Area Network (SAN) Fabric Firmware are tentatively planned for the weekend of September 11-12 as part of the necessary system maintenance for the MIP data center. SAN Migration CDS is also planning to migrate the MIP SAN to a new storage facility. This migration involves the copying and moving of several terra bytes of data from the old storage to the new storage. Additional information will be made available as we get closer to the migration.
